Bio
This Journal will be mainly concerned with the Harry Potter AU fic I am writing, Thoroughly Modern Marriages.

Harry Potter characters in 1816, written in the style of a regency-trash-romance-bodice-ripper.
In my head this is a reasonable thing to do... it makes sense, it really does! I have evidence!

Look at Ron and Hermione. They have the most classic sparky, bickering relationship ever. This is a stalwart of Regency romance relationships. It's textbook. They are the Elizabeth and Darcy of our times. (Not that that is trash... no no, Jane Austen is the real deal that trash writers, and now me, are trying to follow, with baaaad fiction.)

Harry, orphan, wants to avenge the cruel death of his parents. And he's rich. Yup, I've read that by Harlequin.

Draco, well, he writes himself into the role of a haughty aristocrat who looks down on those of inferior birth and has a bad reputation.

Ginny, well Ginny is pert. So, so pert. And she wants to prove to Harry that she is not just a little sister, she could be more.

Snape, oh my God SNAPE. You could lift him directly off the page of HP and he would need no tweaking. J.K. Rowling... she must know that in Snape she has written a Regency villain! He is dark and forbidding! He dresses entirely in black and swishes around in a cloak! He is shady and mysterious!

The idea was born from the Britishisms thread on Fiction Alley Park where I am LCMarvela. Thanks to you lot for sparking this off!

This is written in a style intended to reflect that of works of romantic historical fiction. As such, I would appreciate no one leaving a review saying "this reads like bad romantic historical fiction." Really. I know it does.

I prefer 'homage' to 'parody' as well.
